Can we use Hardy Load Cells with a Non-Hardy summing junction box?

Last updated 04-14-2014 11:19

Question

One of our clients wants to buy a system of three HI HLPS load points. They want to use their non-Hardy junction box because it has an adjustable input impedance and they want to know what Hardy's load cell impedance is? They also want to know if a Hardy Junction Box uses a parallel or a series connection.

Answer

The customer may use their existing junction box with trim pots, but C2® and INTEGRATED TECHNICIAN® will not work with a Non-Hardy junction box. Hardy sells a wide variety of load cells and there is no standard impedance, so you will need to check the data sheet of the specific load cell you are interested in to determine the impedance. Hardy Junction Boxes use parallel connections.

The Advantage load points are matched and balanced and eliminate the need for trim pots.  On the Hardy floor scale there are not any trim pots for cornering, as they are not require to pass the cornering certification testing.
