Can I upgrade my HI 3010 with an -SD option?

Yes, you can upgrade your HI 3010 with the Smart Diagnostic (-SD) option. This just entails swapping the current single or dual channel Analog digital module with one with the added -SD card.  Always observe static and grounding precautions.  This task takes some electrical knowledge and it may be easier to return the complete controller to the factory for upgrade.  The individual multi-channel daughter card adaptor is not sold separately.

Remove the old A/D module module and install the new one. There are instructions in the HI 3010 series manual for removing and replacing modules.

Once the -SD option board is installed all four load cells will appear in the IT diagnostic screens.  There aren't any  mapping or configuration changes required. 

NOTE:  If you have less than four load cells, you would be required to disable any unused channels.  You would enable/disable the channels under the option menu for the Smart Diagnostics control menu selection.
