Can I copy my 4050 SD card memory?

To duplicate the data on the SD card of an HI 4000 series units, which include the HI 4050 and HI 4060, to another SD card using the instrument, you can:

METHOD 1:
1. Power the unit up with the original SD card.
2. Under power, remove the original SD card and install the 2nd SD card.
3. Enter into the instrument setup menu.
4. Change the unit of measure and accept the new setting. Do not exit out.
5. Change the units of measure back to the original setting and accept.
6. Exit out of the setup menu.

The 2nd SD card is now a duplicate of the first SD card.

METHOD 2:
If you have a computer connected with the HI 4000 unit.
1. Power up the unit with the original SD card.
2. Go online with the unit.
3. Through the browser, go to "Operation>Diagnostics>Parameters".
4. Click in the parameter dump box and go to "edit" on the menu bar and "select all".
5. Go to "Edit" on the menu bar and select "Copy".
6. Power the unit down and Swap the SD card in the unit with the 2nd SD card. Power the unit.
7. Go online with the unit.
8. Through the browser, go to "Operation>Diagnostics>Parameters".
9. Click in the parameter dump box and go to "edit" on the menu bar and "select all".
10. Go to "Edit" on the menu bar and select "Paste".
11. Click on the "Save" button.

The 2^nd SD card is now a duplicate of the first SD card.

METHOD 3:
If you have a card reader on your computer.

1. Put the original SD card in the card reader and do a "Copy of the file "PARAMS.TXT".
2. Swap the SD card in the reader and "Paste" the "PARAMS.TXT" file into this SD card.
3. When it asks if you want to replace the old file, indicate "yes".

The 2nd SD card is now a duplicate of the first SD card.

NOTE: You can also copy this file to your computer for future reference or use.
